The New Orleans Career Center is recruiting motivated seniors from the Class of 2026 looking to train for a career in one of the following areas through NOCC’s Extension Academy:

Programs:

  • Medical Assisting

  • Patient Care

  • Electrical

  • HVAC

  • Welding

Application Deadline: 3/29/2026

    • Graduating seniors (Class of 2026) that are eligible to earn their High School Diploma from Orleans Parish schools by program start date

    • Ineligible for TOPS funding (University or Tech; ACT no greater than 20 Composite)

    • Has not already earned an Advanced Credential

    • Has not already enrolled in a 2- or 4-year higher education program

    • NOCC staff will work with these trainees and schools to complete EA enrollment

    • Strong interest in pursuing a career in one of our program areas

    • Serious about committing to a training-for-hire program that lasts ~10 months, with the goal of going straight to work upon program completion

    • Able to start training in August 2026

    • Able to attend training Monday-Friday part time, depending on finalized schedule
