We train students to be multi-skilled culinary and hospitality professionals that specialize in procedures commonly performed in a food service setting. We prepare trainees to become skilled leaders in the local and global hospitality industry.
Get hands-on training
Our hands-on learning environment provides students with the readiness to enter a career in the dynamic hospitality industry. Trainees are guided by a professional chef and often led by culinary professionals from New Orleans’ restaurant and hospitality industries.
Earn industry-based credentials
Trainees learn how to work in restaurants, hotels, and how to manage operations that support our tourism and hospitality industries here in New Orleans. Trainees will have the opportunity to earn Industry-Based Certifications.

The Culinary Arts program trains students to be leaders in the New Orleans culinary and hospitality industries. Trainees learn basic food and beverage management, safety, and the skills in the kitchen to jumpstart their careers or land a job. Students will hone their effective communication skills, teamwork, leadership, and critical thinking in the classroom and culinary lab.
For High School Students
Year-long programs are available for high school students, aligned with NOLA-PS school calendars and schedules. Trainees earn high school credits and attend half-day training sessions that fit into their specific school timetable.
